Friday Free Practise Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo - McLaren-Mercedes' Heikki Kovalainen on Saturday posted the fastest time in the free practise for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix. The Finn needed 1 minute 16.567 seconds for the track that winds itself through the streets of Monte Carlo for 3.340 kilometer and was then helped by a slight drizzle that prevented any drivers after him from bettering the time.

Kovalainen's team-mate Lewis Hamilton was .517 seconds slower, while Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari had the third fastest time, while Felipe Massa in the other Ferrari finished three places behind.

The grid position for the race will be determined later Saturday in the qualifying.

Ahead of the sixth race of the season on Sunday, Raikkonen leads the drivers' standings on 35 points, with Massa and Hamilton following on 28 apiece.

Ferrari lead the constructors' standings with 63 points, 19 more than BMW-Sauber and 21 more than McLaren.

Pictures of Turkish Grand Prix

Great race with a spectacular crash at the start! Poor Nakajima didn't know what hit him and Fisichella was probably wondering what is he doing in the air. Lucky no one got hurt. There is a picture below with Fisico in the air - great shot! And there is one ironic sponsor add on Force India, "Fly KingFisher" (it should have been "Fly KingFisico" :D)

Otherwise the race was set on the beginning. After the bad start Kimi went to take the third place, Hamilton with good tactic second and Massa with perfect race the first

Pictures of F1 Qualification session, Turkey

The super final quali session was interesting. Massa got the pole followed by McLarens, Hamilton and Kovalainen. Kimi had a bit of trouble with his gear box and qualified fourth. All in all it is going to be an interesting start tomorrow as kimi will try to get at least into the second place, and will Massa help with blocking the McLarens!? Well we will see tomorrow!

Till then here are some pictures of today's qualification session
